When my husband asked if I wanted to tag along on his work trip to LA, I immediately responded "um, yeah". How can I turn down a schmancy hotel on the beach, warm weather and an excuse to visit one of my favorites shops, A+R.
Spotted at A+R East, their newest location on La Brea, is this gorgeous collection from Y'a Pas Le Feu Au Lac, which is a French expression that means "no need to rush". The trio behind YPLFL consists of woodturners Grégory and Marie Bodel, and designer, FX Balléry.
Obsessed. Obsessed. Obsessed. I feel like I have to check into retail rehab every time I step foot into A+R. The collection's simple, yet witty shapes, cheerful colors and gorgeous beech wood have me jonesing big time. I was tempted to buy every piece in sight, but my retail sponsor, Michelle helpfully reminded me that my birthday is coming up.
Awesome! My birthday wishlist is as follows:
Les Montgolfiéres, elevated bowls inspired by hot air balloons. I would like the trio, please.
Pik, a trio of bud bases that delicately balance on its pointed ends. The green version is especially gorgeous.
Perrette, containers inspired by old buckets and wooden milk cans. I was lucky enough to get the yellow version for Christmas. Thanks again, Sissy Pants!
Les Perles, candlesticks based on wooden toys that allow you to choose your own adventure.
