This Friday, the U.S. space shuttle program ends with its 135th and final mission.
And we’re kind of bummed.
The shuttle program was synonymous with our childhood curiosity about science, space, the cosmic unknown. When we were kids, space travel was a big deal. Astronauts were rockstars. Sally Ride, the first American woman in space, inspired little girls around the country to reach for the stars. Literally.
So we're a bit nostalgic about its end.
